habitat for humantiy

Habitat for Humanity believes that every man, woman and child should have a decent, safe and affordable place to live. We build and repair houses all over the world using volunteer labor and donations. Our partner families purchase these houses through no-profit, no-interest mortgage loans or innovative financing methods.

Fierce Freedom was formed to combat human trafficking in west-central Wisconsin. The non-profit organization, based in Eau Claire, aims to educate people, organizations and communities about trafficking-related issues and works with law enforcement members, state legislators and others regarding human trafficking in the Chippewa Valley.

VFW Unmet Needs was created through a corporate partnership to assist military service members and their families who run into unexpected financial difficulties as a result of deployment or other hardships directly related to military service. Unmet Needs assists with basic life needs such as: mortgage and rent, home and auto repairs, insurance, utilities, food and clothing. Unmet Needs helps meet unanticipated financial demands on our service members' families that can't be remedied through existing means and provides our service members with the security of knowing that their families have additional support here at home.

The objectives of Toys for Tots are to help less fortunate children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas; to play an active role in the development of one of our nation’s most valuable resources – our children; to unite all members of local communities in a common cause for three months each year during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign; and to contribute to better communities in the future.

Since 1993, The Community Table has been nourishing hungry bodies and spirits in the Eau Claire Community. Currently, The Community Table serves one meal each day, 365 days a year on a no-questions asked basis. Anyone can join our table during meal time, no questions asked. The Community Table is a collaborative effort of local churches, the area food bank, and many concerned individuals, businesses, and civic and social group. The Community Table is truly a community.  Each day volunteers, guests, and staff share a table, coming together over the most basic human needs—breaking down barriers and building community.

The Mission of the aging and disability resource center is to help people age 60+ and adults with disabilities secure needed services or benefits, live with dignity and security and achieve maximum independence and quality of life.

All told, there are some 5,000 local Senior Nutrition Programs in the United States. These programs provide well over one million meals to seniors who need them each day. Some programs serve meals at congregate locations like senior centers, some programs deliver meals directly to the homes of seniors whose mobility is limited, and many programs provide both services.

Explore, experience, and learn about the diverse natural habitat of Wisconsin's Chippewa Valley.
With more than 400 acres of diverse habitat including upland woods, river bottom forests, wetlands, and savannah areas, Beaver Creek Reserve is home to a multitude of flora and fauna. Our nature reserve is bordered by the Eau Claire River and two trout streams that run through the property.

Mission

The Dunn County Humane Society (DCHS) is dedicated to improving the lives of companion animals in our community and finding permanent and loving adoptive homes for the animals in our care.  DCHS promotes the humane treatment of animals and operates as a no-kill facility, a philosophy that has been with the organization from the beginning.  We do not forfeit the life of one animal to make space for another.  All incoming animals are evaluated, medically treated and rehabilitated when possible.  DCHS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that relies on the good will and generosity of individuals and corporations.
